Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes our policies and procedures on the collection, use, and disclosure of your information when you use the CampusDot mobile application (the “Service”). It also explains your privacy rights and how the law protects you.

We use your Personal Data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Interpretation and Definitions

Definitions

  • Application refers to CampusDot, the software program provided by us.
  • Company (referred to as “we”, “us”, or “our”) refers to CampusDot.
  • Country refers to Western Australia, Australia.
  • Device means any device that can access the Service such as a mobile phone or tablet.
  • Personal Data means any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
  • Service refers to the Application.
  • Service Provider means any person or company who processes data on our behalf to facilitate the Service (for example, hosting and database services).
  • Usage Data refers to data collected automatically from the use of the Service or its infrastructure (for example, basic diagnostic data).

2. Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

Types of Data Collected

Personal Data

Depending on how you use the Service, we may ask you to provide certain personally identifiable information. This may include:

  • Email address
  • First name and last name (if provided)

Note on Guest mode: CampusDot supports a “Continue as guest” option. In Guest mode, we do not require you to provide identifying information such as your email address. You can still create and store study content (such as tasks and timetables) in the Service.

Usage Data

Usage Data may be collected automatically when using the Service. This may include basic diagnostic information such as device type, operating system version, app version, and other technical data needed to maintain the Service.

How we use your Personal Data

We may use Personal Data for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the Service, including to operate core features such as saving and syncing your study data.
  • To manage your account (if you choose to sign in), including sending authentication links (magic links) and enabling access across devices.
  • To contact you when necessary, such as for important service notices or account-related messages.
  • To manage your requests, including responding to support inquiries or feedback.
  • To improve the Service, including troubleshooting, security, and feature development.

  • Email magic link sign-in
  • Guest mode (no sign-in required)

3. Data storage and Service Providers

CampusDot stores user content and account data using third-party infrastructure services (Service Providers). Currently, we use Supabase for authentication and data storage. Supabase processes data on our behalf to provide the Service.

Analytics note: We do not currently use third-party analytics tools to track user behaviour for advertising or marketing. If this changes, we will update this Privacy Policy.

4. Push notifications

We plan to offer push notifications (for example, reminders about tasks or deadlines). If you enable notifications, your device may share a push token with our Service Provider(s) to deliver notifications to your device. You can control notification permissions in your device settings.

5. Retention of Your Personal Data

We retain Personal Data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, and as required for legitimate business purposes such as security and maintenance.

  • Account information: retained for the duration of your account relationship, and may be retained for up to 24 months after account closure for support and dispute resolution.
  • Support data (emails/feedback): may be retained for up to 24 months to address follow-ups and improve support.
  • Usage/diagnostic data: may be retained for up to 24 months for security monitoring and troubleshooting.

When retention periods expire, we securely delete or anonymize data. Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for a limited time consistent with our backup retention schedule.

6. Delete Your Personal Data

You have the right to delete or request deletion of your Personal Data. CampusDot provides an in-app option to delete your account. You may also contact us for help with access, correction, or deletion requests.

7. Disclosure of Your Personal Data

We may disclose your Personal Data in limited circumstances, such as:

  • Service Providers: to operate the Service (for example, hosting, authentication, and database services).
  • Legal requirements: if required by law or valid requests by public authorities.
  • Protection and safety: to protect the rights, security, and safety of the Company, users, or the public.

8. Security of Your Personal Data

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children’s Privacy

Our Service is not directed to anyone under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided Personal Data, please contact us and we will take steps to remove such information.

10. Links to Other Websites

The Service may contain links to other websites that are not operated by us. If you click a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for changes.
